Hunt for a Healthy Line if the Server Detects that both Lines have Failed

When the ClearSCADA server has lost communications with an outstation on both lines, it will attempt to re-establish communications on the last line that had healthy comms. By using Line Hunting, the server will alternate between both lines, trying to establish communications with the outstation.

Use the Line Hunting section of the Shared tab to define the Line Hunting interval.

Line Hunting is not available if Heartbeating and Use Preferred Line are enabled, as the outstation will automatically use whichever line becomes healthy (see Poll Outstations on the Other Channel).

Enabled

Select the Enabled check box to enable Line Hunting. The Interval field becomes available for use.

Clear the Enabled check box to disable Line Hunting.

Interval

Specify the frequency with which attempts are made to locate a usable channel. Whenever both communication channels are inoperative, Line Hunting checks both lines systematically at this frequency until one of the lines becomes operational.
