Using Calculation Point Specific Actions

ClearSCADA supports a wide variety of operator-driven or automated actions and controls. When performed by an operator, the actions are typically selected from a context sensitive pop-up menu (see Object Menu in the ClearSCADA Guide to ViewX and WebX Clients).

This section covers the Execute action that is specific to calculation points.

The pick actions in ViewX and WebX represent just some of the methods that are available to use. To find out about other methods that are available for each type of database item, please refer to the Database Schema (see Working with the Database Schema in the ClearSCADA Guide to the Database). The Database Schema also provides details on the name and arguments of each method, so that you can call the methods from your own programs and scripts.

Users with the required privileges can add custom pick actions to a database item by using the User Methods tab on the relevant configuration Form (see Using the User Methods Tab to Define Custom Actions in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration). See a system administrator for the documentation associated with such custom actions (also known as ‘methods’).
