Configuring a Performance Monitor Scanner

A Performance Monitor Scanner is logical functionality that runs within ClearSCADA and monitors aspect(s) of system performance on a node (any computer or workstation) that is connected to the ClearSCADA network.

You need to configure a separate Performance Monitor Scanner for every node (computer or workstation) that you want to monitor. To scan performance data at different rates on the same node, configure one Performance Monitor Scanner per required scan rate on that node.

Configure the Scanner features using the fields on the Performance Monitor Scanner Form.

Use the fields on the Scanner tab to specify the scan properties, such as the scan rate and offset (see Configure the Scanner Properties).

Example:

A Performance Monitor Scanner, ‘Disk Scan’, is configured to scan a server, and monitor the number of available bytes of memory, and the percentage of free space on the hard disk. An alarm is raised if memory usage or disk usage goes over a particular percentage.
