When you change any settings using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool, the affected components are highlighted in red in the tree-structure:
The red highlighting indicates that, for the changes to become effective, you still need to apply those changes to the server. To do this:
- Right-click on the system icon in the tree-structure.
A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
- Select the Apply Changes option.
- Depending on the impact of the changes on the system, you might also need to:
- Restart any ViewX or WebX clients that are accessing the database that is located on the server.
- Restart the server
- Restart other components or applications.
If a client or server restart is required, a diagnostic message should appear advising you accordingly. The ClearSCADA documentation also indicates whether a restart is required for the changes to become effective.
