You can use the Descriptions section of the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool to define the descriptions that are available during configuration. The descriptions are accessed via the Units combo box on those Forms that allow you to define a measurement unit.

Units can be selected on Forms
To add a units description so that it can be selected on a Form:
- Display the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool (see Accessing the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool).
- Expand the Database Configuration branch.
- Select the Descriptions branch.
The Descriptions section is shown. - Select the Add button in the Units section.
A new description is added to the list of Units descriptions. It is selected automatically, ready for you to enter the description. - Enter the description, for example, gallons.
- Press the Enter key to confirm the entry.
To check that the Units description has been configured, display the Form for an analog point, select the Analog Point tab, and select a Units combo box—the unit should be available.
Now you can define more descriptions or continue with the server configuration process. For more information, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.
