Zooming In and Out on a Trend

Like Mimics, Trends have Zoom tools that allow you to zoom in and zoom out on the Trend display. However, whereas the zoom tools on a Mimic make the Mimic objects appear larger or smaller, the zoom tools on a Trend alter the amount of time shown on the X-Axis or the range of values shown on a Y-Axis.

By zooming in on a trace or an X-Axis, you decrease the amount of time shown on the X-Axis and so you can view the differences in trace values more closely. If you zoom out on a trace or X-Axis, the X-Axis shows more time and so more values are shown on the Trend (but in less detail).

If you zoom in on a Y-Axis, you decrease the range of values shown on the Y-Axis and so the Trend displays a more focused view of a smaller range of values. If you zoom out on a Y-Axis, you increase the range and so the trace on the Trend can show a wider range of values.

The topics in this section explain how to zoom in on an X-Axis, trace, and Y-Axis. For more information, see the topics that are listed in the gray footer section at the bottom of this topic. Select the relevant entry to display the topic that you require.
