Before you upgrade the firmware on an outstation, use the Reset Firmware Version pick action to:
- Reset the firmware version number stored in the Geo SCADA Expert database.
- Show any fields that were hidden by Geo SCADA Expert when it uploaded the outstation’s last firmware version number. This ensures that all of the Geo SCADA Expert configuration options are available to you for the current upgrade.
When Geo SCADA Expert first establishes contact with a new outstation, or when you install a new firmware version on an outstation, Geo SCADA Expert uploads details of the firmware version number that the outstation is running and stores this information in the Geo SCADA Expert database.
When Geo SCADA Expert uploads the firmware version information, it may then hide some configuration fields that are no longer relevant to the outstation's firmware version.
