Minimum Configuration

As a minimum, for a Generic Modbus controller to become functional (online), you have to configure these features on the Generic Modbus Outstation Form, then put the controller In Service and save the configuration:

• The Set to which the controller belongs (Outstation tab)
• The controller’s Address (Modbus tab)
• The Point Address Range (Modbus tab)
• The telephone number of the site on which a PSTN controller is located (PSTN tab)
• The Network properties for a network connected controller (Network tab)
• The Shared properties for a shared controller (Shared tab).

This will result in a functional Generic Modbus controller that uses the default configuration settings.
