You need to add an Advanced OPC server database item for each OPC DA server on your system with which you want Geo SCADA Expert to communicate using the OPC protocol.
To configure an Advanced OPC server item, you need to know the location of the OPC server on which the data is located. You also need to know the read mechanism that is supported by the server, to access the data on that server.
You also need to establish which features are required for each Advanced OPC server. You can configure each server to use a variety of features, including alarm redirection. However, many of these features are optional and have no effect on communications. The optional features include:
- Alarm view
- Alarm Redirection
- User methods.
If the features listed above are not configured, they are not used for the selected server (they will be left blank).
