PIC
Each parameter (item of data) in a Trio radio is identified by its Parameter Identifier Code (PIC). The diagnostics parameters that Geo SCADA Expert can retrieve from each Trio radio vary, depending on the radio series and type of radio unit (for example, a base station).
In the Geo SCADA Expert database, you configure a Trio Diagnostics Point of the appropriate type for each item of diagnostics data that Geo SCADA Expert is to retrieve from a Trio radio. You then use the Parameter field on each Trio Diagnostics Point Form to specify the PIC for which Geo SCADA Expert is to retrieve diagnostics. The PIC identifies the diagnostics parameter that each database point represents.
If the PIC that you require is not listed in the Parameter field, but can be retrieved using the selected point type, select the Define PIC option from the field. Further field(s) become available on the Point Form to enable you to specify the PIC details (such as the PIC field into which you enter the parameter identification code of the diagnostic parameter that Geo SCADA Expert is to read from the radio).
Trio D Series radios only support a fixed number of hard-coded status messages, each of which are analog. You use Trio Diagnostics Analog points to retrieve the diagnostics parameters from those radios. For ease of design, the values that Geo SCADA Expert can read from D Series radios are configured as if those radios had PICs.
The options that are available in the Parameter field vary per point type and the Model of radio with which the point is associated. Ensure that these are specified correctly before opting to use the Define PIC option.
