Typically, you would use the Third Party ODBC client application to monitor the status of its connection to Geo SCADA Expert. Many ODBC applications include connection status tools (for more information, please refer to the documentation supplied with your ODBC product).
However, you can also use the Server Status Tool to view the status of the Third Party ODBC client - system connection (see Run the Server Status Tool in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Server Status Tool). When using the Server Status Tool, you should examine the Server>Links status settings, which show the status of all connections (not just ODBC client connections).
The information provided includes:
- The amount and size of data sent from the Third Party ODBC client to the server
- The amount and size of data sent from server to the Third Party ODBC client in response to the requests.
However, you can also view the status of the Third Party ODBC client - system connection in Geo SCADA Expert by using the Server Status Tool which is available for use on the server PC. To view the status of a Third Party ODBC client - system connection, you need to view the Server>Server Links status settings. The Server Links settings provide information about every client - system connection including the Third Party ODBC client - system connections.
