Rename an Item without using the Rename Action

To rename the database item directly from within the Database Bar without accessing the Rename action:

1. Display the Database Bar (see Display an Explorer Bar).
2. Select the item in the Database Bar.
3. Either:
   • Press the F2 function key on your keyboard.

   Or:

   • Select the item for a second time and pause before releasing the mouse button.

   The name of the item is highlighted and the cursor positioned, ready for you to change the item’s name.

4. Enter a new name to overwrite the existing name, or make amendments to the existing name. Remember to take into account any Naming Restrictions.
5. Select another part of the ViewX display or press the Enter key to confirm the new name.
