Use the Multiplier fields below the general configuration fields on the Counter Point or Frozen Counter tab to define the scaling factor that is applied to the counter’s value.
- Multiplier—The DNP3 protocol supplies each count as a whole number. Use a multiplier other than 1 if the value that is to be used in the Geo SCADA Expert database is to differ from the actual count value. The counter values that are reported by the outstation are multiplied by the Multiplier value for use in Geo SCADA Expert.
Example:
A Slave generates one count for every 0.33 liters of water pumped through a pipe.
A multiplier of 0.33 is used to show how many liters have been pumped.
