On some DNP3 devices, output points are controlled exclusively by other applications—such as ISaGRAF—rather than the DNP3 master (Geo SCADA Expert).
Use the Enabled check box at the top of each output point’s Control tab to specify whether a point is controlled by Geo SCADA Expert or exclusively by another application.
Output points are enabled for control via Geo SCADA Expert by default.
Select the Enabled check box to allow Geo SCADA Expert to be able to control the point. Configure the required settings on the rest of the Control tab—for information on configuring Analog Output points, see Configure the Control Properties of a DNP3 Analog Output Point; for information on configuring Binary Output points, see Configure the Control Properties of a DNP3 Binary Output Point. Once configured, the relevant control actions become available for use in Geo SCADA Expert.
Clear the check box for other applications, such as ISaGRAF, to control the point exclusively. The rest of the fields on the Control tab become ‘grayed out’ and unavailable for use. No control actions are available for the point in Geo SCADA Expert.
Be aware that with some DNP3 devices, it is possible to switch point control between Geo SCADA Expert and other applications. When supported, the functionality is explained in the relevant DNP3 extension driver guide.
