Specify Whether the Slave Includes Time Tags in its Data Transmissions
The configuration Form for IEC 60870-5 Slave Direct Outstations and IEC 60870-5 Slave Logical Outstations includes an IEC 60807-5 Application Layer Configuration section. Use the section to specify whether the slave outstation (Geo SCADA Expert) reports its summer time setting or includes time stamps with the data that it sends to its SCADA master (Controlling Station).
- Summer Time Flag—Select this check box if the slave outstation reports its summer time setting using the SU bit in event time stamps.
- Clear the check box if the slave outstation does not report a summer time setting.
- Time Tag Interrogated Data—Select this check box if the slave outstation reports interrogated data in an ASDU format that includes a 56-bit time tag. Interrogated data is point data (other than counter data) that the outstation sends to its SCADA master in response to an interrogation request from that SCADA master.
- Clear the check box if the slave outstation does not include a time stamp with the interrogated data that it sends to its SCADA master.
- Time Tag Requested Counter Data—Select this check box if the slave outstation reports requested counter data in an ASDU format that includes a 56-bit time tag. A slave sends such data to its SCADA master in response to a counter request from that SCADA master.
- Clear the check box if the slave outstation does not include a time stamp with the requested counter data that it sends to its SCADA master.
- Time Tag Spontaneous Data—Select this check box if the slave outstation reports spontaneous data in an ASDU format that includes a 56-bit time tag. The reason for the slave sending spontaneous data to its SCADA master is vendor-specific. Typically, the slave might send such data because a value has changed by a significant amount, has crossed a threshold, or has changed state. Spontaneous data is not sent in response to an interrogation request from the SCADA master.
- Clear the check box if the slave outstation does not include a time stamp with the spontaneous data that it sends to its SCADA master.
