For a Kingfisher outstation to become functional (online) you need configure these features, then put the outstation In Service and save the configuration:
- The Set to which the outstation belongs (Outstation tab)
- The outstation Address (Kingfisher tab)
- The host address and port for any network connected outstations (Network tab) (Port number 4058 is the TCP and UDP port that is registered with the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) for the Kingfisher protocol.)
- If the outstation communicates via PSTN or has PSTN fallback, the Telephone Number of the site on which the outstation is located (PSTN tab)
- If the outstation is a Remote outstation, its Parent Outstation (Remote tab).
These are the minimum requirements and, when configured, will result in a functional Kingfisher outstation that uses the default configuration settings.
