For each point, you need to specify these features on the appropriately named <Point Type> tab, then put the point In Service and save the configuration:
- The outstation on which the point is located
- The I/O Type
- The point’s address
- For digital points, the Bit Number and Number of Bits
- For Hardware analog and counter points, the Channel Number.
If the point is an output point, you need to:
- Enable and configure the required properties on the Control tab.
If you want point data to be stored historically, you also need to:
- Enable and configure logging on the Historic tab if data is to be stored historically in the server database.
These are the minimum requirements and, when configured, will result in a functional point that uses the default settings.
