Configure a Modbus Slave Channel’s TCP/IP Connection Properties
For a Modbus Slave channel to communicate using Modbus Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), set the channel’s Connection Type to TCP/IP.
Use the rest of the fields on the Connection tab to define the required connection properties:
- Port—The TCP port on which the Modbus Slave channel accepts connections. Modbus Slave channels communicate via port 502.
- Idle Connection Timeout—Use to specify the maximum time that an idle connection is kept open. The connection is dropped once the timeout is exceeded. Specify the required timeout in the OPC Time Format.
Leave at the default of zero if no timeout is required.
