Minimum Configuration

For an ODBC point to become functional (online), you need to specify:

• The ODBC Query with which the point is associated
• The required Lookup Method
• For a point that is to retrieve data using the Row & Column Lookup Method:
• The Row index for the point’s value
• The Column index for the point’s value
• For a point that is to retrieve data using the Value Lookup Method:
• The Column index to search for the Lookup value
• The Lookup Value
• The Value column
• For a point that is to update or insert data into another database, you need to define the properties and specify the SQL Query code on the Query tab.

You also need to put the point In Service and save the configuration.

These are the minimum requirements and, when defined, will result in a functional point that uses the default configuration settings.
