Configuring an OPC XML-DA Scanner
An OPC XML-DA Scanner is a logical grouping of XML tags that the OPC XML-DA driver scans at the same interval.
You can attach multiple scanners to each OPC XML-DA Server on your system. By specifying different scan rates and offsets, you can enable the OPC XML-DA Client driver to scan certain data at different intervals and times to other data on the same XML-DA server.
Configure the scanner’s properties using the fields on the OPC XML-DA Scanner Form.
The Form has several tabs.
Use the fields on the Scanner tab to specify the scan properties, such as the scan rate and offset (see Configure the Scanner Properties).
For fields on other tabs, see Tabs That are Common to Many Configuration Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Simple Drivers.
For information on the minimal amount of configuration that you can undertake to produce a functional OPC XML-DA scanner in Geo SCADA Expert, see Minimum Configuration.
