You need to add an OPC XML-DA Server for each server on your system with which you want Geo SCADA Expert to communicate using the OPC XML-DA protocol.
To configure an OPC XML-DA Server, you need to know the location of the node on which the OPC data is located. You also need to know the read mechanism that is supported by the server, along with the user name(s) and password(s) that allow the required access to the data on that server.
You also need to establish which features are required for each OPC XML-DA server. You can configure each server to use a variety of features, including alarm redirection. However, many of these features are optional and have no effect on communications. The optional features include:
- Alarm view
- Alarm Redirection
- User methods.
If the features listed above are not configured, they are not used for the selected server (they will be left blank).
