UCP - Universal Computer Protocol

Universal Computer Protocol is used for sending messages to pagers and mobile telephones. While TAP is the more commonly used protocol for sending messages to pagers and mobile telephones, some countries use UCP, in particular Belgium and those in the Scandinavia region.

The communications setup for UCP is similar to that for TAP, with Geo SCADA Expert sending the message to the Service Provider via a modem. The only difference is that the UCP protocol is used instead of the TAP protocol. For more information, see TAP - Telocator Alphanumeric input Protocol.
