For points, this status attribute shows the number of proposed configuration changes to the device point, for which Geo SCADA Expert has received a confirmation message. If the Geo SCADA Expert point is mapped to a point on the device, the attribute also shows the device point name (V1-V8), as shown in the illustration below:
For outstations, the Status display shows this information for every device point that is mapped to a Geo SCADA Expert point, as shown in the illustration below:
When you make configuration changes to a SCADAPack 50 device point in Geo SCADA Expert, the changes become proposed changes. You can select either the Preset Configuration pick action or the Download Configuration pick action to process the changes.
When you select the Preset Configuration pick action, Geo SCADA Expert only processes the configuration changes locally, in the Geo SCADA Expert database. It does not send the changes to the device. Geo SCADA Expert will also confirm the configuration changes immediately.
When you select an appropriate Download Configuration pick action option, Geo SCADA Expert sends the configuration changes to the device in one or more SMS message requests. When the device receives the messages, it processes the changes and sends confirmation SMS messages back to Geo SCADA Expert (this process does not necessarily take place immediately; this is because the GSM network may be busy or the device may be in Sleep mode). When Geo SCADA Expert receives the confirmation messages back from the device, the configuration changes become confirmed changes. Until Geo SCADA Expert receives the confirmation messages back from the device, the configuration changes are unconfirmed changes and remain proposed changes.
NOTE: The device separately processes the changes in each individual SMS message. It does not process all of the changes in a set of SMS messages in one go.
