Configuring Analog Points
In addition to the analog points mentioned below, Geo SCADA Expert can support other types of analog point using a SCADAPack Modbus Extension Driver. For information on any SCADAPack Modbus points not listed below, see the relevant SCADAPack Modbus driver extension guide.
The SCADAPack Modbus driver supports SCADAPack Modbus Analog Input points and Analog Output points.
Configure the properties for each analog point using the fields on the SCADAPack Modbus Analog Input Point Form, or the SCADAPack Modbus Analog Output Point Form, as appropriate.
This section covers configuration of properties on the Analog Point tab of each Form, and the properties on the Control tab of the SCADAPack Modbus Analog Output Point Form. Some of these properties are identical to the properties that are supported by analog points on the driver's 'parent' Advanced Modbus driver. For information about such properties, follow the links below to access the relevant sections in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver.
For information on the fields on other tabs, see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
For SCADAPack Modbus Analog Input or Analog Output points, use the Analog Point tab to:
- Configure the General SCADAPack Modbus Analog Point Properties
- Configure Alarm Limits (see Configure Alarm Limits in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver)
- Configure any Alarm Limit Profiles (see Specify any Alarm Limit Profiles in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Define the Point Scaling (see Define the Point Scaling in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver)
- Define the Point Formatting (see Define the Appearance of an Analog Point’s Values in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify the Override Properties (see Define whether an Analog Point can be Overridden in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify the Significant Change Properties (see Significant Change Properties in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the Advanced Modbus Driver)
- Configure the No Change Properties (see Detect whether an Analog Point has Stopped Changing in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
- Specify the Trend Properties (see Define an Analog Point’s Trend Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify the Logged Data Properties.
For SCADAPack Modbus Analog Output points there are two additional tabs: a Control Tab and a Control Checks tab.
Use the Control tab to:
- Configure the Control Properties (see Define the Control Settings for an Analog Output Point in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify whether any Controllers are given Scanning Priority whenever a Control Action is Issued (see Promoting Scanning of Outstations Associated with Controls in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration)
- Specify Whether to Restore the Control Value Following a Cold Reset
- Specify Whether to Update the Point Value Immediately Following a Control.
You can optionally use the Control Checks tab to configure the Control Checks settings (see Configuring Control Checks Settings in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Core Point Configuration).
