Import from RemoteConnect

Use the Import from RemoteConnect pick action to import configuration and/or SCADAPack x70 logic from SCADAPack RemoteConnect configuration software into Geo SCADA Expert for the selected SCADAPack x70 device. You might choose to do this, for example, if you want to use Geo SCADA Expert to configure a SCADAPack x70 device and want to use SCADAPack x70 logic in that device.

To import configuration and/or logic for the selected SCADAPack x70 device from RemoteConnect:

1. Select the Import from Remote Connect pick action.
   The Import from RemoteConnect dialog box is displayed.

   

2. Select the browse button next to the File Name field.
   A File Name window is displayed. Its layout varies, depending on the operating system that you are running.
3. Use the window to locate and select the file that you want to import from RemoteConnect. This will typically take the form of a SCADAPack Import configuration file (.rtz file).
4. Select the OK button to confirm the details and import the selected file.
   The SCADAPack Import configuration file is imported and made available to Geo SCADA Expert. Checks are run to compare the content of the imported SCADAPack Import file with the configuration that exists in the Geo SCADA Expert database. The checks compare the imported content with the configuration that exists for the SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration item and any Analog, Digital, and/or Counter Configuration items that reference that Device Configuration item. Diagnostic messages are displayed for any incompatibilities that are detected .
5. If any incompatibilities are detected, address these as appropriate.

Once you have imported a SCADAPack Import configuration file into Geo SCADA Expert, you can use the SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration item's status attributes to view information about the imported SCADAPack Import file (see Status Attributes that are Specific to SCADAPack x70 Device Configuration Items).
