ASN Data Type
Associated with: SNMP points
The syntax used for SNMP is Abstract Syntax Notation 1 (ASN.1). The syntax defines, for example, the type of data that is accessed using the SNMP protocol. ASN.1 is used within the MIB database at each SNMP database.
The ASN Data Type attribute indicates the data type with which the point is associated.
Possible States: These vary, depending on the point type:
Every type of point:
- ASN NULL—the point does not have valid configuration
- UNKNOWN—the data type value is not recognized by Geo SCADA Expert.
- SNMP Integer, Cardinal, and Digital points support these data types:
- ASN RFC1155 COUNTER
- ASN RFC1155 GAUGE
- ASN RFC1155 TIMETICKS, COUNTER32, GAUGE32, and UNSIGNED32
Additionally, this Integer point is supported:
- ASN INTEGER and ASN INTEGER32
- SNMP String points support these data types:
- ASN OCTETSTRING
- ASN SEQUENCE
- ASN RFC1155 IPADDRESS
- ASN RFC1155 OPAQUE and ASN BITS
Geo SCADA Expert does not support the data type ASN OBJECT IDENTIFIER and ASN COUNTER64.
