SNMP Specific Alarm and Event Categories
Each alarm and event on a Geo SCADA Expert system has a Category that indicates the type of alarm or event. The Category is included by default in the Events List and, if applicable, the Alarms List and the Alarm Banner.
You can optionally filter the entries in either List by category—the entries from which you can choose comprise various ‘core’ categories, along with any categories that are specific to the drivers that are installed on your system.
On systems on which the SNMP driver is installed, in addition to the ‘core’ alarm and event categories, this SNMP specific category is available:
- SNMP Configuration Error—Entries associated with object identifier configuration problems. The SNMP driver generates such entries whenever it receives ‘invalid configuration’ messages from the device(s) that it is polling. Such a message might, for instance, indicate that a particular object identifier does not exist in a device.
- Each SNMP point has an SNMP Config Alarm status attribute that indicates whether an SNMP Configuration Error was reported when the driver last attempted to retrieve the point’s data. You can ascertain the status of this attribute by viewing the point’s Status display (see SNMP Specific Status Display Attributes).
