The Read permission defines whether the User or User Group can read the item’s data.
If this permission is disabled, the item’s values will not be available to the User or User Group. Disabling the Read permission causes every other permission to be disabled automatically—every other permission requires the User to have the Read permission.
Availability: Is available to any User or User Group listed in the Security Window for the selected item. The Read permission cannot be restricted (you can only stop Users and User Groups from accessing the read settings by denying them the Read permission for database items on a per item basis).
