The log file contains diagnostic information about the serial communications.
To access the port server log file:
- Use Microsoft® Windows Explorer® to locate the log file. By default, it is in the 'Logs' sub-folder which is in the same folder as the installed port server software. The log file is named 'PortServer_001.log'. There may be additional log files if the log file becomes full.
- Use a text editor such as Notepad to open the log file.
The log file contains diagnostic information that you can use to analyze any errors that have occurred (see Determine the Cause of the Failures).
You can alter the logging settings so that the log files contain other types of information if required (see Changing the Content of the Port Server Log Files).
