Access the Server Command Line Tool

To access the Geo SCADA Expert Server Command Line Tool:

  1. Open a Command Prompt window in Microsoft Windows®.

If the Geo SCADA Expert server is configured to only communicate with clients that provide valid client certificates, you have to run the Server Command Line Tool on the server itself. A server requires the clients to have certificates if its Require Client Certificates check box is enabled in the Connection Security section of the Server Configuration Tool (see Configure the Connection Security Settings).

  2. Use the cd command to change the directory to that in which the Geo SCADA Expert Server Command Line Tool, SCXCmd.exe, is installed. The Tool is installed in the same directory as other Geo SCADA Expert installation files. The default location of these files varies depending on the Windows operating system (see File Locations (Default) in the Geo SCADA Expert Installation Guide).

    Example:

If Geo SCADA Expert is installed at the default location on a 64-bit machine that is running Windows 10, you would enter:

    cd c:\program files (x86)\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA

  3. Press the Enter key.
  4. Run the SCXCmd.exe and display a list of commands by entering the following at the command prompt:

    SCXCmd -?

The Geo SCADA Expert Server Command Line Tool runs and displays a list of options and the available commands. There is a brief description of the purpose of each command. For example, the SHOWSTATE command has a description of 'Show the current server state.'.
