Stop the Geo SCADA Expert Server

You may need to stop the Geo SCADA Expert server when you alter certain server configuration settings or when making a backup of your database. You are usually prompted on screen whenever you need to stop the Geo SCADA Expert server.

To stop the Geo SCADA Expert server:

1. Right-click on the Geo SCADA Expert Server icon in the Windows taskbar.
   A context-sensitive menu is displayed.

   

2. Select the Shutdown Server option.
   
3. Depending on the way that your system is configured, you may be prompted to log on via a User account that has sufficient permissions to confirm the request.
   The Geo SCADA Expert server shuts down. The server icon updates to indicate the change in server status.
4. If you are about to use the Geo SCADA Expert installer to change or upgrade an existing installation, you also need to stop the Server icon running in the Windows taskbar. To do this:
   1. Right-click on the Server icon.
   2. Select the Exit option. (The option is only available when the server is shut down.)
      The server icon is removed from the taskbar.

 

Alternatively:

1. In Windows, select the Start menu. Scroll down the alphabetical list of installed applications and expand the EcoStruxure Geo SCADA folder.
2. Select the Service Manager option.
   The Service Manager window is displayed.
3. Select the relevant Geo SCADA Expert Server service.
4. Select the Stop button on the Service Manager window.
