Comms Child Links
The Comms Child Links category provides status information about the connections that are multiplexed by the Comms Parent Links.
The status information for each comms child link is categorized under these headings:
- Id—A unique number that Geo SCADA Expert allocates and uses to identify the child link. This Id matches that shown in the Comms Link Id columns of the Server Status Tool's Advises and Server Links categories.
- Link Version—The version of the client-server protocol that is used by the link. This can be affected by three factors:
- The protocol version of the client that is connected to the link
- The protocol version of the server
- The protocol version that the server is emulating.
The Link Version matches the lowest version of the three version numbers. For example, if the client version is the lowest version number, the Link Version will use the same version as the client.
- Legacy—This column displays 'Yes' if the connection is to a client that is running a version of Geo SCADA Expert that is earlier than Geo SCADA Expert 2020 (which is the first version to support coalesced communications and server and client certificates). If the client is running Geo SCADA Expert 2020 onwards, the entry is blank ('-').
- Data Recv'd—The amount of data that the client has received using the child link, taking into account the effect of any compression used.
- Data Sent—The amount of data that the client has sent to the server using the child link, taking into account the effect of any compression used.
- Content Recv'd—The amount of data that the client has received using the child link.
- Content Sent—The amount of data that the client has sent to the server using the child link.
