Use the fields on the Channel tab to define a channel’s general properties. Some of the fields on this tab are common to channels on many simple drivers (see Configure the Basic Channel Properties in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Simple Drivers). Fields that are specific to Simatic S7 channels are explained below:
- Switch After n scanners have failed—Where a channel can use either the primary or secondary connection port, communications can be swapped from one line to the other. So if Geo SCADA Expert detects a problem on the line that is currently being used, it can switch to the other line and then attempt to re-establish communications with the scanners.
Use the Switch After n scanners have failed field to specify how many scanners on the channel have to fail before the server automatically switches lines.
