Use the Status Display Buttons
A series of buttons is included at the bottom of the Status display:
Use the buttons to perform these activities:
- Copy—This button becomes available for use once you select one or more attributes on the Status display.
To select the attribute(s) that are of interest, do one of the following:
- Select a single attribute so that it is highlighted.
- Select a block of attributes—select the first entry that you require, then hold down the Shift key while you select the last entry you require.
- Select several individual attributes—select the first entry that you require, then hold down the Ctrl key while you make further selection(s).
Select the Copy button to place a copy of the highlighted content on your PC’s clipboard. Paste the information from the clipboard into another display or application, as required.
- Copy All—Select this button to copy the information in the Status display to your PC’s clipboard. Paste the information from the clipboard into another display or application, as required.
- Refresh—The status values that are shown on the Status display are accurate at the time you select the View Status option. They do not update automatically. Select the Refresh button to update the display to include the data for the current time.
- Close—Select this button to close the Status display.
There are restrictions with using copy and paste in Virtual ViewX (see Use Copy and Paste in Virtual ViewX).
We recommend that you use ViewX, rather than Virtual ViewX, to copy and paste status attribute content into another application from Geo SCADA Expert. However, to use Virtual ViewX to do so:
- Display the required Status display in Virtual ViewX.
- Perform one of the following:
- Select the required attribute(s), as explained above, and then select the Copy button.
- Select the Copy All button to copy all of the contents of the Status display.
- Close the Status display and open an unused Notes window (one for which your User Account has both Read and Edit Notes security permissions (see Notes)).
- Use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + V to paste the copied contents temporarily into the Notes window.
- Use CTRL + A to select the contents of the Notes window.
- Close the Notes window without saving the changes (unless you want to retain the copied content in the Notes window).
The selected content is copied to the local machine's clipboard. - Open the third-party application into which you want to paste the copied content.
- Use CTRL + V to paste the copied content into that application.
