Configure Data Concentrator Properties
This section only applies if the SCADAPack E outstation is configured and licensed to operate as a data concentrator (see SCADAPack E Data Concentrators and Remote Outstations). The setting is ignored by any outstation that is not a data concentrator.
Use the fields in the Data Concentrator section of the SCADAPack tab to specify the following Data Concentrator properties:
Stop Communications If Buffers Full
Use this field to specify what action the SCADAPack E outstation should perform when its internal Event Buffer becomes full.
Select the check box for the data concentrator to send a ‘Disable Unsolicited’ message and stop performing event polls on its remote outstations when its internal Event Buffer becomes full. This will cause the remote outstations to buffer events until the data concentrator has free space in its Event Buffer, and so help to avoid any loss of events. Normal operation is resumed as soon as space becomes available in the data concentrator’s Event Buffer.
Ensure that the check box is clear for the SCADAPack E outstation to create free space in its internal Event Buffer, by overwriting old events when the Buffer is full.
Update Point On Successful Control
(SCADAPack E Outstation firmware version 8 and later.) Select this check box if you want the data concentrator to update a point's value after receiving a successful control message response from a remote device.
Command Events on IED Control Fail
(SCADAPack E Outstation firmware version 8 and later.) Select this check box if you want the data concentrator to send a control command event to Geo SCADA Expert if a control sent to a remote IED fails.
Security Response Timeout
The Security Reply Timeout (milliseconds) parameter enables you to define the Secure Authentication reply time for outstation messages. The valid range is from 100 to 120,000 milliseconds.
DNP3/TCP Keep Alive
The Keep Alive interval specifies the period of time between the outstation sending a DNP3 status poll to connected remote devices. The interval should be small enough to prevent the remote device closing the connection due to inactivity.
Enter the time in the OPC Time Format.
