Configure Point Scaling
Use the fields within the Scaling section of the Analog Point tab to specify the range of raw input signal and engineering values for a DNP3 SCADAPack analog point.
- Full Scale and Zero Scale—Specify the values that the SCADAPack E outstation uses to convert the raw integer values into engineering values and vice versa.
In the Raw column, enter the uppermost limit for a raw input signal in the Full Scale field, and the lowest limit for a raw input signal in the Zero Scale field.
In the Engineering column, enter the highest valid engineering value in the Full Scale field, and the lowest valid engineering value in the Zero Scale field.
The Engineering values are independent of the Overrange and Underrange properties defined in the Alarm Limits section of the tab. (For details on configuring Overrange and Underrange alarms, see Configure Alarm Limits.)
- Apply Master Station Scaling—Select this check box if Geo SCADA Expert is to scale the integer values that the outstation reports for the point. If the outstation reports floating point values—for example if the DNP Object Type is set to Short Float Analog Input (g30v5) (see Configure Common Properties of DNP3 SCADAPack Points)—this setting has no effect.
If the check box is not selected and the outstation reports integer values for the point, Geo SCADA Expert will process alarms and events based on the Raw value, rather than the Engineering value. The outstation, however, will process alarms and events using the Engineering value of the point.
