Configure the SCADAPack ER-P620 IRIG Mode
This section only applies if the Outstation Type is set to ‘SCADAPack ER-P620’ (see Specify the Outstation Type).
SCADAPack ER-P620 outstations support IRIG-B time synchronization, whereby the outstation’s time can be synchronized with that of an external IRIG-B time source. IRIG (Inter-Range Instrumentation Group) is a standardization of time codes that allows equipment to be synchronized to a known reference time. Group B is the most commonly used set of these standards.
Use this combo box at the bottom of the Outstation Type tab to specify the outstation’s IRIG Mode:
- IRIG Disabled—This is the default option. When selected, no ports are used for IRIG-B time synchronization.
- IRIG Standard—Select this option if the external time source connected to the port supports standard IRIG-B functionality, such as that for IRIG-B000, IRIG-B003, IRIG-B120, IRIG-B122, or IRIG-B123.
- IRIG IEEE 1344—Select this option if the external time source connected to the port supports IRIG-B IEEE-1344 extensions, such as IRIG-B001, IRIG-B002, or IRIG-B121.
For more information on IRIG support, see the SCADAPack ER Hardware User and Reference Manual.
