Configuring DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Actions
The Geo SCADA Expert DNP3 SCADAPack E driver supports the following DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Actions:
- DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (NULL)—Sends a DNP3 Pulse Action (NULL) to a DNP3 SCADAPack Binary Output or DNP3 SCADAPack Binary User Point
- DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (Trip-Close)—Sends a DNP3 Pulse Action (Trip-Close) to a DNP3 SCADAPack Binary Output or DNP3 SCADAPack Binary User Point.
You configure the properties of each pulse action using the appropriate DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action Form. Each Form has several tabs. This section covers configuration of properties on the Pulse Action and Mapping tabs of both Forms, the NULL tab of the DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (NULL) Form, and the Trip/Close tab of the DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (Trip-Close) Form.
For both DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (NULL), and DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (Trip-Close) points, use the Pulse Action tab to:
- Configure General Properties
- Specify how the SCADAPack Outstation Handles any Pulse Action Events
- Configure Pulse Properties
- Optionally Associate one or More Profiles with the Pulse Action
- Promote Retrieval of Data Associated with Pulse Controls (see Specify which Outstations are Integrity Polled after a Successful Control in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the DNP3 Driver)
- Specify the Point Data Class that Applies when Communicating with another DNP3 Master.
Use the Mapping tab(s) to:
For DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (NULL) points, use the NULL tab to:
- Configure the NULL Pulse Action Properties.
For DNP3 SCADAPack Pulse Action (Trip-Close) points, use the Trip/Close tab to:
- Configure the Trip and Close Pulse Action Properties.
The properties on other tabs are common to points and pulse actions on many advanced drivers—for information, see Tabs on Point Forms in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to Advanced Drivers.
