Orifice Plate Change
Associated with: SCADAPack Modbus Flow Runs that perform AGA-3 Flow Calculations
Security permission required to access this pick action: Tune Limits
UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR OF APPLICATION
Execution of the Orifice Plate Change pick action automatically ends any currently active orifice plate change forcing on a Flow Run that has a dual chamber orifice plate. Ensure that the relevant sensors or registers are connected before activating this pick action.
If the live input values are provided by local registers but those registers are not connected beforehand, the input values will be undefined.
If the live input values are provided by sensors but those sensors are not connected beforehand, the Flow Computer will report communication lost. If supported by the version of Realflo, the Flow Computer will then use the last known good value or the Default Value specified in the configuration. This might result in the flow calculation producing a different result to that which is expected.
Use the Orifice Plate Change pick action once an orifice plate change is complete, to specify the diameter of the new plate.
During a single chamber (see AGA-3 General Properties) orifice plate change, flow stops while the plate is being changed, then recommences once the Orifice Plate Change pick action has executed successfully.
With a dual chamber (see AGA-3 General Properties) orifice plate change, before an orifice plate change or inspection commences, use the Start Orifice Plate Change pick action to specify the forcing that is required during the plate change or inspection. Flow calculation continues while the plate is being changed or inspected, using the fixed values specified using the Start Orifice Plate Change pick action. Once the orifice plate has been changed or the inspection has been completed, use the Orifice Plate Change pick action to complete the process—the Flow Run resumes its normal flow measurements.
With either type of orifice plate, select the Orifice Plate Change pick action to display the Orifice Plate Change window:
Use the New Plate Diameter field to specify the diameter of the new orifice plate.
