View and Process Flow Run Data
Once you have configured a Flow Run in the database, you may want to use other Geo SCADA Expert features to further process the Flow Run data, or to enable operators to view that data. This section provides a summary of some of the features you may want to consider.
To enable operators to view a Flow Run’s values, you can attach and display those values in a Mimic, on a Trend, or in a Data Grid. For a list of the configuration and data field values that you can display for a Flow Run, see the SCADAPack Modbus Flow Run entry in the Database Schema.
To process an item of Flow Run data independently in Geo SCADA Expert, or to view an item of Flow Run data that is not directly available from the Flow Run database item, you can add and configure a SCADAPack Modbus Realflo Analog Input point (see Configuring Realflo Analog Input Points). You can then further process the data using a Data Grid, by displaying the data on a Mimic or Trend, or by using the values in a Logic program. For example, to process a Flow Run’s current Static Pressure value in Geo SCADA Expert, you can configure a Realflo Analog Input point to have an ‘Input’ Source and monitor the appropriate ‘Static Pressure’ Item (see Configure the General Realflo Analog Point Properties).
For a list of the configuration and data field values that you can display for a Realflo Analog point, see the SCADAPack Modbus Realflo Analog Input Point entry in the Database Schema.
If your system is licensed to run the CFX driver, the retrieved gas flow measurement data can be exported to a suitable third-party flow calculation application for analysis. The CFX driver exports flow run data in Flow-Cal’s Common File Exchange (CFX) format. For more information, see the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to the CFX Export Driver.
You can also use Geo SCADA Expert in conjunction with Crystal ReportsTM to produce a record of a Flow Run’s data at a particular instant, either in electronic or hard copy format.
