Alarm Suppression

ClearSCADA has the ability to suppress alarms on specific database items, depending whether a particular alarm is active on a ‘parent’ item. You can use this function to help prevent an important alarm being ‘masked’ by the occurrence of numerous other alarms, which themselves are raised as a result of the initial alarm becoming active.

When an alarm is suppressed, it is omitted from Alarms Lists and the Alarm Banner, but its alarm state is apparent on other displays. Users cannot acknowledge alarms that are suppressed and any alarm redirections remain inactive for the period that the alarms remain suppressed.
