ViewX Logging

ViewX log files contain information about each head on a client (each instance of the ViewX application). This includes information about the documents on display, logging on, initialization at start-up, and so on.

To display a ViewX log file:

  1. Use Windows Explorer to locate the log file (see File Locations (Default).
  2. Open the log file in a text editor program, for example, Microsoft Windows Notepad.

If the ViewX log file does not appear in the default location, it may be due to the LogFileBase setting in the application configuration file (SE.Scada.ViewX.exe.config). You can refer to this file to determine the location of the ViewX log file (see File Locations (Default)), however you should not make further adjustments to this file unless instructed to by Customer Support.

WARNING

UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR OF APPLICATION

Do not make configuration changes to the SE.Scada.ViewX.exe.config file without consulting Customer Support. Performing such changes may result in excessive data logging that impacts system performance.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
