Defining Pulse Action Details

Pulse Actions are used to send a control to a device for a defined period of time, for example to start a motor. A pulse is a pulsed (rather than a maintained) digital output control.

Some drivers support pulse actions that have a single configurable control action. Outstations on some drivers support pulse actions that have two or three configurable control actions.

Example:

A one-action Pulse control sends an electrical pulse to a point that is connected to a control device. The pulse instructs a pump to start running.

You configure each pulse action on your system by using the fields on the appropriate Pulse Action Form. Each Form has several tabs, which you use to define different aspects of the pulse action configuration.

Use this section, along with the appropriate driver documentation, for information on configuring the pulse actions on your system.

This section covers configuration of standard fields on the Pulse Action tab of the Pulse Action Form (see Define the Actions that a Pulse Undertakes).
