Events

Associated with: Any item for which an event can be logged.

This status attribute indicates the number of events that have occurred within the previous hour and the current hour for the selected database item.

Use this attribute to view how many events have been logged for a selected database item within the current or previous hour. If the event count for the selected database item has become overactive and exceeded the Maximum number of Event Journal records per database item per hour that can be logged a message similar to that shown below is displayed (see Define the Acceptable Number of Event Journal Records):

Events that occur beyond the maximum are suppressed, however the count of the suppressed events is included in the total displayed in this status attribute, see Unsuppress Event Logging. If you subtract the maximum value from the count displayed for the current or previous hour you can determine the number of events that have been suppressed within the current or previous hour.

The Maximum number of Event Journal records per database item per hour that can be logged is set at 1000.

Events logged against an item become overactive and exceed the maximum value within the current hour, for example the event count is shown in the status attribute as 1550, then 550 events (1550 - 1000) are suppressed within the current hour.
