SCADAPack x70

Configure Modbus Slave Device Communication Settings

Use the Communication section of the Modbus tab to configure the settings to allow the SCADAPack x70 to communicate with the Modbus Slave.

Device Type

Use this combo box to select the protocol used by the communication link between the SCADAPack x70 device and the Modbus Slave device. Select from Modbus TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and Modbus Serial RTU.

Unit Identifier

This field is only available if you selected Modbus TCP for the Device Type. Use the spin box to specify the Modbus Slave address. The address needs to be within the range 1 to 255.

Device Address

This field is only available when the Device Type is set to 'Modbus Serial RTU'.

Use the spin box to specify the network address of the Modbus Slave device. The address needs to be within the range 1 to 255 inclusive. It also has to differ from the Modbus Slave Address that is configured on the serial port to which this device is connected (see Port Function - Modbus).

Device addresses above 254 are non standard Modbus extended addressing.

IP Address

This field is only available if you selected Modbus TCP for the Device Type. Specify the IP address of the Modbus Slave

Device Listen Port

This field is only available if you selected Modbus TCP for the Device Type. This allows you to define the port on which a Modbus Slave listens, and to which communications from the SCADAPack x70 are sent.

SCADAPack Serial Port

This field is only available if you selected Modbus Serial RTU for the Device Type. Use this combo box to specify the serial port that the SCADAPack x70 device is to use to communicate with the Modbus slave device. You need to ensure that the Port Function of this port is set to Modbus (see Port Function - Modbus).
