Edit an Existing ViewX Client - System Connection

You can use the Geo SCADA Expert Client applet to change the configuration of an existing ViewX client - system connection. This is useful when you need to alter the way the client - system connection works, for example, you may need to reconfigure the port settings to avoid clashes with other applications.

The settings for a ViewX client - system connection work in exactly the same way as when used during the initial configuration of the client - system connection.

To edit an existing ViewX client - server connection:

1. Display the Geo SCADA Expert Client Applet.
2. Select the client - system connection that you want to edit.
3. Select the Edit button to display the Geo SCADA Expert Client Configuration window (see Display the Client Configuration Window).
4. Define the System Name and Type for a ViewX Client - System Connection.
5. Enable or Disable Client Licensing.
6. Define Whether the System is Visible in ViewX.
7. Define Whether the ViewX Client Uses a Secure Connection.
8. Define Whether to Connect Client to Fully Synchronized Server Only.
9. Define the Workstation Name for the ViewX Client.
10. Use System Priority for Global Scripts and Homepages.
11. Define the Node Name for a Client - System Connection.
12. Define the Node Cost for a Client - System Connection.
13. Define the Client Compression Settings for a ViewX Client Connection.
14. Define the Port and Poll Timeouts and Intervals for a ViewX Client Connection.
15. Change the Range of Ports for the Client’s Incoming Data.
16. Associate a ViewX client - System Connection with a Client License.
