When you have exclusive control of an item, other users cannot access the reserved features for the item under exclusive control. The reserved features are those features that have been reserved for use by the user with exclusive control.
To relinquish your exclusive control so that other users (with sufficient permissions) can view and respond to the item's alarms you need to use the Release Exclusive Control action:
- Access the context sensitive menu of the item for which you want to take exclusive control (see Display the Object Menu in the Geo SCADA Expert Guide to ViewX and Virtual ViewX Clients).
- Select the Release Exclusive Control option. The item is no longer under your exclusive control. Every user with sufficient permissions can access the item's features.
If you log off while items are still under your exclusive control, the exclusive control is released automatically so that other users can access the items.
