Alarm and Event Printer Logging

The Alarm and Event printer application allows alarms and events from an OPC alarm and event server, such as Geo SCADA Expert, to be printed on a serial printer or similar device. You can enable logging on this application to monitor the activity of the application, and help diagnose any unexpected issues, such as complications with the serial port connection.

To enable or disable alarm and event printer logging, you need to configure the logging settings via a registry editor (see Using a Registry Editor to Change Server Log File Settings).

To display an alarm and event printer log file:

  1. Use Windows Explorer to locate the log file. The log file is stored at the location that is specified in the LogFileBase registry setting.

The location of the LogFileBase registry setting varies depending on the operating system:

    On a 32-bit system:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA\AEPrinter\LogFileBase

    On a 64-bit system:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA\AEPrinter\LogFileBase

  2. Open the log file in a text editor program, for example, Microsoft Windows Notepad.
