License Server Logging

License server log files contain information about requests from the client to the license server. This includes information about requests for client licenses, allocation of client licenses, errors relating to connections, dongle errors and removals, client licenses expiring, and so on.

To enable or disable license logging, you need to configure the logging settings via a registry editor (see Using a Registry Editor to Change Server Log File Settings).

To display a license log file:

  1. Use Windows Explorer to locate the log file. The log file is stored at the location that is specified in the LogFileBase registry setting.
  2. The location of the LogFileBase registry setting is:
  3. (on 32 bit systems)
  4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA\LicenseServer\LogFileBase

  5. (on 64 bit systems)
  6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA\LicenseServer\LogFileBase

  7. Open the log file in a text editor program, for example, Microsoft Windows Notepad.
