Create an EtherNet/IP Direct Outstation
In Geo SCADA Expert, you use an Outstation database item to represent an Allen-Bradley controller.
When you create the outstation, you can leave most of the fields at their default values. The only fields that you need to change for this tutorial are:
- In Service—Located on the Outstation tab. Select this check box so that it displays a check mark.
- Micro800—Located on the EtherNet/IP tab. If the controller that you are using for this tutorial is a member of the Allen-Bradley Micro800 range of controllers, select this check box so that it displays a check mark.
- Slot Number—Located on the EtherNet/IP tab. This field only applies if the controller does not belong to the Micro800 range of controllers. Specify the number of the slot that the controller occupies in the rack in which it is located.
- Outstation Set—Located on the Outstation tab. Specify the EtherNet/IP Direct Outstation Set that you created earlier in this tutorial.
- Host Address—Located on the Network tab. This is the host address of the controller. Use the browse button to display a Reference browse window and then select the required entry from the window. You can also enter the host address directly.
- Port—Located on the Network tab. Specify port number 44818. This is the port that EtherNet/IP uses when it establishes a TCP connection.
For further information on configuring an Outstation, see Configure an EtherNet/IP Outstation.
Once you have configured the outstation in Geo SCADA Expert, you can proceed to Create an EtherNet/IP Analog Point.
